The Amateur Singing Contest with John Santosis proud to have been officially recognised by the Portuguese Colsulate and by both the provincial and federal governments: provincially through MPPs Tony Ruprecht, Charles Sousa and Minister of Labour Peter Fonseca. Federally by Member of Federal Parliament Mario Silva and the Leader of NDP Jack Layton. The ten finalists of 2009 got to enjoy the privilege of being introduced to the Provincial Assembly.
