Bess Furfaro

Bess Furfaro began singing at age 2. She has taken vocal lessons as well as lessons to help deal with stage fright. Aside from singing, she enjoys biking, yoga and nature walks. She has family roots in both Greece and Argentina. Her favourite artists are Celine Dion, Heart and basically “anyone who can really belt it out!” Her main goal in life is simply to live a happy and healthy life, surrounded with family and friends. Sounds good to me!

Victoria Fragomeni

Victoria Fragomeni is 14 and began singing at the age of 6. Her cultural background is a combination of Italian and Maltese. She is currently in grade 9 and has studied voice in various styles including jazz and classical. She will be performing a song in Italian from Puccini’s opera Turandot. She likes playing soccer on the field as well as in video games and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favourite artists are Beyonce, Justin Bieber and Christina Aguilera. Victoria’s goals are to do well in school and to “make it big” someday.

Victoria Bertini

Victoria Bertini began singing at the age of 6 and entered this year’s contest at age 15. She currently attends high school and has had vocal training by way of the school choir as well as attending sessions of Zack Werner’s Idol School. She comes from a blended Portuguese and Italian family. Victoria enjoys swimming, camping and playing guitar. Her favourite artists include Alannis Morisette and Olivia Newton John. She hope to have a career as a singer or in broadcasting... maybe both!

Elissia Mior

Elissia Mior entered the contest at age 11. She is currently in grade 5 and has trained in pop music. Her favourite pastime besides singing, is art. She started singing at age 3 and her goal is to become a professional singer one day. She comes from an Italian background and her favourite singer is fellow Canadian, Justin Bieber.

Alessandra Longshaw

Alessandra Longshaw is 15 years old and began singing at age 5. She is currently in grade 9 and has taken both vocal and piano lessons. She is a Canadian of Jamaican heritage who enjoys playing basketball, dancing and piano. Her favourite artist is Christina Aguilera. Alessandra’s goal is to become a singer that younger generations will look up to.

Stephanie Wojtowicz

Stephanie Wojtowicz is a 17 year-old grade 12 student. She began singing at age 3 and has studied guitar piano and voice, including multiple sessions of Zack Werner’s Idol School. Stephanie’s parents are from Poland and she will be singing a song in Polish at the Final. Aside from singing, she enjoys acting, dancing, writing songs and making music videos. Her favourite artists include Annie Lennox, Christina Aguilera, Adele and Alanis Morisette. Her goal is to become a professional singer and perform in front of tens of thousands of people.

Lino Gallotta

Lino Gallotta was born in southern Italy in the town of Bernalda. He began singing at the age of 8. He took some vocal training but his chosen profession for many years has been that of a butcher. His favourite artists include Elvis Presley, Claudio Villa and Domenico Modugno aka “Mr. Volare”. One of Lino’s favourite pastimes is soccer... surprise, surprise! Lino’s goal is to record a solo album one day.

Suzanne Medeiros

Suzanne Medeiros comes from a Portuguese family. After graduating high school, she entered the colourful world of hairdressing. Her hobbies include hanging out, making money and, of course, singing. Her favourite artists include Adele and Amy Winehouse. Her goals are simple... to be happy and successful.

Kasia Kacala

Kasia Kacala will be 17 by the time she performs at the Final. This grade 11 student began singing around the age of 10 and has studied classical voice. Kasia’s background is Polish and she will be singing a song in Polish at the final. She enjoys running and playing sports such as soccer and volleyball. Her favourite recording artists are Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. She would like to see how far singing will take her but if things don’t work out in music, she plans on becoming a homicide detective. I guess if she isn’t knocking ‘em dead on stage, she can find out who is.
